Just spray around the ends of perches in nestboxes and in corners of your Birdroom.Red mite are a nightmare to control ,but this will help .Very hard to see to the untrained eye .First visual signs are minute gray specks these are the eggs ,spray onto these and this will kill them instanlty you know when you have killed them ,they turn the spray green Any you see moving around just spray them ,instantly dying No need to remove the birds just avoid if possible

How does it work

This is for 200g of Diatomaceous Earth (DE), as it is correctly known.It is a 100% natural organic powder for use against Redmite, internal (worms) and external parasites (lice, fleas etc), and for the general good health of your animals. It really does work, you can find many website forums singing its praises.

A very useful product which can be used for internally worming all poultry and many other farm animals including dogs and horses, plus can be used on all birds and pets for the control of lice, fleas etc. and for residual control of lice in housing and bedding.

If Red Mite is already a problem in your henhouse then we would suggest using Poultry Shield Red Mite Eradicator first, to clean out, then when dry apply the powder. We also suggest you use it for residual louse and mite control by applying to nest boxes and house floor when bedding is changed and/or use in purpose made dustbaths where the birds will get a constant covering when bathing.

Current control

Under optimal conditions, the lifecycle of the poultry red mite can be completed within a week, so that large populations can be rapidly established.This, in conjunction with the mites' ability to occupy small spaces, makes control measures extremely difficult. The most common form of control of poultry red mite is by the application of pesticides. However, the number of pesticides registered for application in poultry houses is relatively low for reasons including development of mite drug resistance, chemical and antibiotic residues in food and undesirable environmental affects. In addition,the tendency of the mites to occupy small cracks and crevices, and their ability to survive for extended periods without taking a blood meal, alongside their prolific reproduction capacity and short life cycle, make eradication very challenging.

When handling any poultry and/or applying powders, however safe to use, we would suggest using Rubber Gloves or disposable Latex Gloves.

Instructions how to use

 Puff into all the corners ,joints around the house,perches ,nestboxes,You need to do this once then repeat around 5 days later just incase you missed them or mite eggs have hatched,as the breeding cycle of a mite from egg to breeding is around 7 days

Useful Tip Find a empty washing up liquid bottle pour the powder into bottle .this works as a great puffer
